First Flight

Wilbur and Orville Wright were two famous brothers from America, known as the Wright Brothers. The Wright Brothers designed and flew the world’s first powered plane on December 17th 1903. The first powered plane was called the Wright Flyer 1. It was made of wood and cloth, with a tiny engine attached to it. The plane had a speed of only 6.8 miles per hour. You could run faster than this!
